My complaints that come from combat is that just feels so.clunky. Granted, HL2's puzzles are nothing super complex, but I'm not a very smart person so it works out lol. It's weird since Ravenholm had a really good balance imo of combat and puzzles (it's my fav chapter in the game). These long sections of just kill stuff felt soooo boring to me.

So, basically everything that's Nova Prospect and beyond. I think the worst portions of the game are the times it focuses on combat. Problems for me though stem from the actual gameplay. Even though it's fairly old now, all of that stuff holds up super well. First off, HL2 excels at storytelling at immersion. So! I felt like talking about my opinions on the game and what I did/didn't like 'cause why not?įundamentally, I think HL2 deserves all the praise it gets, but there are portions of the game I never hear people talk about. Last time I did that was when I first played it back in 2016. I just played through HL2 again all the way through.
